Round 17: Painted

Pretty simple challenge this month - keeping it nice and visual. Paint textures, paint effects, icons of actual paintings; as usual, anything kind of goes. Paint is quite a broad medium as well, as there are many kinds of paint. Soft watercolours, sharp acrylics, drippy spray paint, oozy oils. Don't feel you have to be limited to just one.

I was wondering if you know where I cand find a tutorial how to make hair effect like the one in this icon:?

hello! I hope lookslikerain doesn't mind, but as the maker of this icon, I thought I could offer some insight! I initially started out with this tutorial by nadya149 https://december-march.livejournal.com/9317.html which links to a tutorial by naive_astronaut. I read both and then began experimenting. My method has evolved to painting hair on a 200x200 canvas with a solid round brush at various sizes between 2px - 5px. I use the 'simulate brush pressure' option on the pen tool and draw each strand individual (I haven't figure out how to stroke multiple paths at once yet). I've tried hand-drawing hair with my tablet but it doesn't give the desired effect I'm looking for. I hope this helps!
