Info + Small Extension

Hi guys!
It's been a crazy month, both here and in real life, and I always schedule the new challenge earlier but I just didn't have time and energy this time. I have a theme, and all resources I just didn't prepared the post, and unfortunately tomorrow I have to work late. I just wanted to let you know that the new monthly post will be here on Saturday, 2nd April with the voting (so you have one extra day if you want to enter your icons).

call for co-mods!

I would like to keep this community fresh and active. I'm looking for 1-2 co-mods who can put together large inspiration posts (as displayed in this community) every other month. Ideas should be new and posts should be pretty! Posts should include a large amount of icons, but also larger graphics, gifs, textures, quotes, music, art, and anything you can think of to inspire people.

You'll also be responsible for posting reminders, voting, and winners for your month.

I'm not sure how many people will want to be co-mods here, but leave a comment below with a mini inspiration post. Please include more than just icons. Comments are screened.

Update and Reminders

First off, please let me apologise for my long absence. My mum was bed-ridden in early August, and I've pretty much been her full time carer while she recovered, on top of juggling my full time job. Between the two it didn't leave me with much steam to pursue other activities. Still, it's not fair that I just dipped out of here without an explaination, so for that I apologise. You deserve better than that, and I'm sorry. I intend for this month to just be a blip on the radar, and get back to regular updates going forward.

With that all being said, voting for last month's challenge will go up today, and please don't forget about entering Round 16 if you are so inclined.

Community Update

Hi everyone,

hyacinthos has kindly handed the reins over to me to mod for a little while, while they step away for a bit. I think we can all agree they have done an amazing job running this place. I hope I am able to fill the huge shoes they have left for me!

I have a few bits of housekeeping:

- A new challenge for next month will be posted in a couple of weeks, and the results for the current round will be posted by hyacinthos (or myself) at some stage in the near future as well. Please take a moment to vote for Round 11 in this post if you haven't already done so.

- There will be one small tweak to the posting requirements when you post your set, to make it a little easier to compile the voting post. Please include the following at the bottom of your entry post, updating it with your icon links and username for voting:

Hi everyone! Just a quick post to tell you about a slight change: Instead of only 5 icons being inspired by the theme, from now on your set of 20 icons must include 10 icons inspired by the theme each month. That's the only change! If you even think something needs to be tweaked, don't hesitate to let us know. :)

Hello everyone! As you can see from the title of this post, I'm looking to find at least one co-mod for the community. (If there's a lot of interest, I may take on two.) We'll alternate months, and you'll have complete freedom when it comes to choosing themes and assembling the inspo posts. I already have something picked out for April, so your first inspo post will go up in May. Before commenting below, please make sure you're familiar with the layout of the community, especially how voting is done and how winners are posted, and that you'll be comfortable doing those things.

Hi everyone! Soooooo, originally the voting was going to have three parts, with the third part being we vote for the top three themed individual icons. As it stands, there are over 220 themed icons! That would be rather difficult voting, so I'm thinking we can eliminate that third part. What do you think? Comments are screened, and you can be anonymous!

we don't have any sign-up posts or claims, so don't worry about
missing your chance to claim your favorite character or movie.
Anybody can icon anything - from stock to comics to tv to film to
whatever else you can imagine!

Also, I wanted to note that the How It Works post has been revised
several times, especially the voting portion, over the last month.
I've been tinkering a lot, and I'm sure things will continue to

Welcome to Monthly Inspo! This post will tell you everything you need to know. Feel free to ask questions! All comments are screened.

sign ups

☼ Don't worry about having to sign up. We're eliminating that step. You can icon 20 different things, or make 20 icons of the same thing, or anything in between.
☼ You can icon anything, from tv to celebrities to stock photos to anime - it's up to you!

inspirations

☼ On the first of every month, a new inspiration post will go up at midnight EST. The icons and graphics and anything else in this post will center on a theme. Sometimes this will be very specific - black and white - and other times it could be more vague or open to interpretation - emotions.
☼ Your set of 20 icons must include at least 10 icons that are directly inspired by this theme. The other 10 are up to you, but you have the option of making all 20 inspired by the theme.

voting

☼ All icons are due by 11:59pm EST on the 20th. On the 21st, voting will go up.
☼ The voting will have two parts: First, we will vote on the best individual icon in each 20-icon set. Second, we will vote on the top three best overall sets.
